iTunes Festival 2012
Here is a reason why sometimes I’m really glad for iTunes. FREE FESTIVAL. Every year, London’s Roundhouse devotes a month to a string of relatively small scale gigs of big artists. The only way to get past those doors? Win a pair of tickets.
This year, the event is taking place from 1st to the 30th of September and iTunes have now begun taking applications to win tickets! And wait – did I mention they’re free? Completely absolutely free of charge, and anyone can apply for as many artists as they may please. One artist per night – that makes 30 different acts! How very exciting. Get your tickets HERE! I have never been lucky enough to win any, though I know lots of people who had won multiple pairs last summer – so you might just be happy to hear that the chances of winning do actually exist.
This year’s line-up so far features the almighty Jack White, Emelí Sande, Norah Jones, Usher and er… One Direction. (I know who I’m not applying for…). Sounds pretty decent though, as already you can tell that there will be a little bit of everything to satisfy everyone’s taste.
Previous years’ artists featured the likes of Amy Winehouse, Foo Fighters, Kasabian, Faithless, Florence, Calvin Harris, Placebo… you get the picture. And if you don’t win tickets, fear not! You can always stream the gig live via iTunes. Of course it’s not quite the same…But y’know. Better to experience a part of it than not at all! Feel free to drop a comment on who you’d like to see to be part of the festival this year, or whether you’ve applied for any tickets and who

Slightly off topic, but how do you fancy winning some free iTunes downloads? I am currently in the possession of a bunch of free song download codes from XFM, and they are running out next week but I have too many! So I have decided to embark on some selfish blog promoting and give you the chance to win 5 free downloads simply by either tweeting a link to my blog, or sharing it on Facebook or Tumblr or whatever takes your fancy
Once you do, either notify me by commenting or tweeting me @iamkaja0 (that’s a ‘zero’ not an ‘o’ at the end) and voilà, codes shall be sent to you (:

Hope you win! I never think I’ll win things like that, but last year, I won tickets to see an intimate ACL taping for Joanna Newsom. It was easily one of my best concert experiences (and I’ve been to quite a few).
Thanks, I hope so too
Joanna Newsom, no way! I always struggle to find anyone else who is a fan, you’ve quite possibly just made my day! It must have been fantastic.
It was really great; second time I’ve seen her, actually. She’s crazy talented, although I imagine it’s quite tough to get into her music. “Does Not Suffice” is possibly one of the saddest songs ever written. I love it.
